BACKGROUND

Software is playing an increasingly important role in our day-to-day life. Unfortunately, software systems often fail to deliver according to promises. It is well known that there are still unresolved errors in many of the software systems that we are using every day.

The aim of the QSIC series of conferences is to provide a forum to bring together researchers and practitioners working on improving the quality of software, to present new results and exchange ideas in this challenging area. It originated as the Asia-Pacific Conference on Quality Software (APAQS). The four preceding conferences were held in 2000 (Hong Kong), 2001 (Hong Kong), 2003 (Dallas, USA), 2004 (Braunschweig, Germany), and 2005 (Melbourne, Australia) respectively, and received overwhelming responses from academia as well as industry. Each conference publishes a proceedings with IEEE Computer Society Press and a post-conference special issue with a recognized internationally journal. More historical information can be found here.

QSIC 2006 will be held in Beijing, China. It will adhere to the style of previous conferences and will include several workshops.  Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their articles to a Special Issue on Quality Software of the International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering.

CALL FOR PAPERS

QSIC 2006 solicits research papers, experience reports, and workshop papers on various aspects of quality software. See the topics of interests, paper submission guidelines, and workshops. Submissions must not have been published or be concurrently considered for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be fully reviewed by at least two reviewers and will be judged on the basis of originality, contribution, technical and presentation quality, and relevance to the conference. The proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press.
